According to the relevant regulations of the Ministry of Education on graduate enrollment, the School of Environment and Energy at Peking University accepts outstanding undergraduate graduates from across the country to pursue master's and doctoral degrees through recommendation and exemption from examination.
1、 Basic requirements of the applicant
1. Support the leadership of the CPC, have a good moral character and abide by laws and disciplines;
2. Obtain the recommended exemption qualification from the school's examination.
2、 Application Method and Process
1. Peking University Online Application
September 10, 2024 10:00-16:00, Peking University Graduate Admissions Network( https://admission.pku.edu.cn/ )Open the online application function for recommended exempted graduate students in 2025, and applicants can fill in their volunteer information online through the "Online Registration" module.
2. Application materials
(1) One application form for recommended exemption from entrance examination for graduate studies at Peking University in 2025;
(2) Peking University will receive one personal statement recommending exemption from entrance exams for graduate studies in 2025;
(3) In 2025, Peking University will receive two recommendation letters from experts who are recommended to pursue graduate studies without taking the entrance examination. Two experts with associate professor titles (including) or equivalent professional and technical titles are required to sign the recommendation letters, and the recommendation letters must be sealed and signed at the sealing seam;
(4) One copy of undergraduate transcript, stamped with the official seal of the school's academic affairs office or the special seal for transcript certification, sealed in a self provided envelope, and stamped with the official seal of the academic affairs office or the special seal for transcript certification at the sealing seam;
(5) 1 set of photocopy of award certificate;
(6) One proof of foreign language proficiency.
The materials for items (1), (2), and (3) above can be downloaded and printed by the applicant after filling out their preferences on the Peking University Graduate Admissions website.
In addition, applicants can also submit representative academic papers, publications, or original work results that reflect their academic level. Northern version or original work results. Peking University's recommended students who apply to pursue graduate studies in their own department can submit one copy of each of the above items (1), (2), and (6). Recommended students who apply from other schools or across departments at Peking University must submit all of the above application materials to the Graduate Academic Affairs Office of the recruiting department. The applicant must ensure the authenticity and accuracy of the submitted application information and all application materials. If an applicant fills in false information, provides false application materials, cheats in exams, or engages in other violations of exam discipline, our school will take serious measures in accordance with the Education Law of the People's Republic of China and the Measures for Handling Violations of National Education Examinations (Order No. 33 of the Ministry of Education) until the intended admission qualification is cancelled.
Please put the above materials (printed on A4 paper uniformly) in your own envelope in order, and copy the first page of the application form and paste it on the surface of the envelope. 3. Registration for the Ministry of Education's recommendation service system
The Ministry of Education's "National Recommended Exemption from Examination for Graduate Students Information Disclosure and Management Service System" (hereinafter referred to as the "Recommended Exemption Service System"), website: http://yz.chsi.com.cn/tm )To establish a unified information filing and public platform for recommendation work, as well as an online application and admission system.
The applicant must obtain the recommended school recommendation qualification (based on the list of recommended students reported to the Ministry of Education's recommendation service system for filing); Applicants must log in to the recommendation service system in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Education and enrollment departments, register and fill in basic information in the system, complete online registration, electronic photo upload, online payment, volunteer filling, confirmation of interview, and confirmation of pending admission.
3、 Initial review and interview
1. After receiving the application materials, the department will organize an expert group to conduct a preliminary review of the materials and determine the eligibility list for the second round of interviews. Applicants who have obtained the qualification for the interview must participate in the interview according to the time and method notified by the department.
2. The interview will implement a differential interview and select the best candidates for admission.
3. The interview format is a comprehensive interview, and the comprehensive interview time for each applicant who passes the initial review is generally not less than 20 minutes. Those who pass the comprehensive interview with a score of 60 will not be admitted.
4. Departments will follow the principle of seeking truth from facts and conduct assessments of candidates' ideological and political qualities and moral character during the interview and admission process. The main assessment contents include candidates' political attitude, ideological performance, moral qualities, compliance with laws and regulations, honesty and trustworthiness, etc. Those who fail the ideological and moral assessment will not be admitted.

4、 Pending Admission and Publicity
1. Departments will determine the list of candidates for admission based on the results of the interview. Applicants who have obtained the qualification to be admitted to our school through the re examination organized by the department, but have not obtained the qualification to be recommended by the recommended school, will have their qualification to be admitted invalid.
2. The department sends a notice of pending admission to the intended applicants through the Ministry of Education's recommendation service system, and the applicants should confirm online whether they accept the pending admission within the time specified by the department. If the applicant does not accept or fails to confirm within the specified time, their eligibility for admission will be cancelled.
3. Before October 20, 2024, the department shall complete the online announcement of the proposed admission list. Applicants can visit the official website of the department or the Graduate Admissions website of Peking University to check the list of proposed admissions. If you have any questions, you can raise them to the department during the public notice period.
4. The recommended students who have been accepted by our school are not allowed to apply for admission to the master's degree examination that year, otherwise their eligibility for recommended admission will be cancelled.
5、 Review and Admission
Before issuing the admission notice, our school will conduct a qualification review of the recommended students according to the following requirements. Those who fail the review will have their proposed admission qualifications cancelled.
1. Complete the credit requirements for all courses and practical activities (including graduation thesis or internship) specified in the undergraduate training program;
2. Graduation thesis or project should be rated as "good" or above 80 points;
3. After obtaining the qualification for recommendation, there shall be no failures in the required undergraduate courses;
4. There is no record of illegal or disciplinary actions taken from the date of obtaining the recommendation qualification to the date of enrollment registration.
Admitted recommended students should provide their original ID card and degree certificate to the admitting department for verification on the day of enrollment registration. If they do not obtain their bachelor's degree and undergraduate graduation certificate before enrollment registration, the school will cancel their admission qualification.
6、 Other matters
1. Applicants must commit to the authenticity of their personal information, application information, and submitted materials. If there are academic misconduct, professional ethics, honesty and trustworthiness issues, at any time, once verified, the applicant's qualifications for application and admission will be cancelled, and the applicant's school will be notified.
2. If the higher authorities introduce new enrollment policies in the 2025 enrollment year, our school will make corresponding adjustments and make timely announcements.
3. Applicants should promptly pay attention to the relevant documents and notices issued and sent by our school and enrollment departments. Any consequences caused by personal negligence or other reasons shall be borne by the applicant themselves.
