Education and Work Experiences

1993-1996: Ph.D., Bioenvironment Sciences, Tottori University, Japan.

2002-2003: Postdoc, University of California, Davis.

1996-2009: Research scientist in National Institute for Agricultural Engineering (Japan); Research scientist in National Institute of Environmental Research (Japan); Professor at the University of Tokyo; Professor at Beijing Normal University.

2009-present: Professor at Peking University.

Research Interests

Environment and energy information engineering, clean and renewable energy, urban water resource and water environment, eco-hydrology, evapotranspiration.

Academic Achievements

Supervised over 100 postdoc, doctoral and master students at PKU and 15 students at BNU; Published over 200 papers in peer reviewed journals, including over 120 papers in international journals; Charged more than 50 research programs/projects, including international projects, national key research and development program (ministry of science and technology), national 973 project, national natural science foundation projects; Found the discipline of "new energy and energy efficiency engineering" in PKU Shenzhen and as the chief editor published 13 series textbooks (Science Press).

Social Serves

Served as the vice dean and executive vice dean of the school of environment and energy (one of the main founders of the school), PKU (2009-2015); Found the lab of “environmental and energy information engineering”; Served as the director of “Guangdong mangrove engineering technology research center”; Served as the director of “Shenzhen engineering laboratory for water desalination with renewable energy”; Served as review expert at many national, province and Shenzhen institutions, as reviewer of various international and national academic journals, as editor of 3 international academic journals and several Chinese journals.

Done research and education in 5 world famous universities and research institutions in Japan and US for over 10 years; Done research and education in 3 famous universities and research institutions in China for about 20 years. Have extensive international experiences and Proficient in English and Japanese.
