Research Projects

1. Identifying Organic Matter Sources in Mangrove Sediments Using Compound-Specific Stable Isotope Analysis,National Natural Science Foundation of China (42377049), General Program, 2024.01-2027.12.

2. Insights into the Role of Heterogeneity in Hyporheic Zone on Denitrification-dependent Anaerobic Methane Oxidation, National Natural Science Foundation of China (41702275), Youth Program, 2018.01-2020.12.

Academic Contributions

Dr. Kai Yu conducted long-term investigation and monitoring in the high arsenic groundwater contamination area of the Jianghan Plain in Hubei Province. His research work revealed the carbon cycle process of shallow groundwater and the influence of surface organic matter input on the mechanism of arsenic enrichment in shallow groundwater. Dr. Yu Kai's investigation and monitoring work in Maozhou River Basin, Shenzhen, China, revealed the distribution and transport mechanism of heavy metals in river hyporheic zone.
